Recruitment

Maritime Sales Professional

(Singapore Region)

Sailors’ Society has been providing practical and emotional help to mariners for over 200 years; we have much to be proud of in our past, but our focus is very much on the present and the future. We are a global charity dedicated to the welfare and wellbeing of seafarers and their families. We aim to improve the lives of seafarers and their families through practical, emotional and spiritual support. We deliver this through a combination of frontline services, digital support and preventative wellbeing programmes, meeting seafarers wherever they are: at sea, online and at home.

We are now looking for a MARITIME Sales Professional, with experience in the maritime industry, to drive and support the growth of the Society’s wellness services by promoting and selling Sailors’ Society’s Wellness at Sea training programmes and related products to corporate clients within the maritime sector and beyond.

The role focuses on developing strong client relationships, delivering effective sales and marketing campaigns, and acting as a vital liaison between clients and the internal wellness team to ensure high-quality service delivery and client satisfaction. In the first six months, the role will be expected to progress from building a strong understanding of the products and market, to developing a qualified sales pipeline and ultimately to securing initial deals or advancing opportunities to a late stage that clearly demonstrates near-term revenue generation.

Key Role Responsibilities:

  • Promote and sell Wellness at Sea training programmes to corporate clients, particularly within the maritime industry.
  • Drive sales of Sailors’ Society wellness products and services, identifying new business opportunities and markets.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain strong professional relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Promote sponsorship and other funding opportunities working closely with the Development team
  • Design and implement targeted sales and marketing campaigns, including follow-up and performance tracking.
  • Act as the key liaison between clients and the Wellness at Sea team to ensure seamless and professional delivery of services.
  • Collaborate internally to align client needs with programme delivery and organisational objectives.
  • Monitor and report on sales performance, pipeline development, and campaign outcomes.
  • Support the collection of client feedback and evaluation data, contributing to reporting and continuous improvement.

What we are looking for:

This post requires an individual with a maritime sales background with proven experience in sales and business development. It would best suit a proactive and commercially driven individual with strong relationship management skills and a passion for wellbeing initiatives. This role will be part-time and self-employed, so it may work well for candidates who are already operating on a freelance basis in the maritime sales field.

The successful candidate should demonstrate:

  • Excellent spoken and written English (additional regional languages will also be an advantage)
  • Proven experience in sales and business development
  • Knowledge or experience of the maritime industry
  • Experience in marketing and campaign development
  • Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to influence and engage at all levels
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to collaborate and engage with internal colleagues, with strong organisational and project management skills and eperience managing multiple priorities.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems.

We will be expecting the Sales Executive to demonstrate understanding of charity governance requirements and cross-border/jurisdiction regulation (including data protection), show leadership and ownership of responsibilities, work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to ensure effective impact, to be able to work flexibly to maximise opportunities for growth and income generation, and demonstrate a willingness to engage with the maritime community.

We support all our colleagues through active performance management and supervision through regular 1:1, team and organisational meetings. We ask all colleagues to attend professional development and training opportunities and to show leadership and ownership of their responsibilities.

As a faith-based organisation we also ask all our colleagues to demonstrate respect and empathy for the mission of Sailors’ Society, its history, beliefs and traditions. We believe that diversity strengthens our ability to represent the full breadth of the Seafarer community and welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds, with any faith or with none.
