Gold Coast 50
10 October 2026
The Gold Coast 50 (GC50) Ultramarathon is an IAU Bronze Label event that stretches from Coolangatta to Palm Beach along Australia’s beautiful Gold Coast.
The two-lap course sees runners pass by creeks and mangroves with ocean views throughout, utilising a mix of closed roads and the stunning Oceanway to reach the finish line in Queen Elizabeth Park.
Taking on this challenge for #TeamSailorsSociety is Daniel Williams-Smith, a staff captain with P&O Cruises.
Daniel is an active marathon runner, though this is his first ultramarathon, so he’ll be undergoing a lot of training in preparation for this endurance event, but he says he is still looking forward to using it as an opportunity to raise funds and awareness for Sailors’ Society.
“I have spent my career at sea, so the work Sailors’ Society does to support seafarers and their families is something I strongly identify with and would be proud to represent.”
