Supporting India’s Maritime Community

In 2024, we began an exciting new partnership with India’s Directorate of Shipping to support the health, wellbeing and safety of India’s seafarers, cadets and their families.

This reflects a long-term commitment by both parties to improving lives at sea and on shore by strengthening welfare services, offering support and resources and enhancing the overall safety standards of the Indian maritime sector.

The partnership, in the form of a memorandum of understanding (MOU), allows the Directorate to benefit from Sailors’ Society’s global expertise and the collaboration aims to ensure more robust welfare systems, particularly in mental health support, crisis management and education.
