Looking back on 2023 and the difference we have made
Over the last 12 months, Sailors’ Society has really made a positive impact on the lives of our seafarers and their families.
In 2023 we were there for 30,000 crew plus their families, offering 24/7 support through our dedicated seafarer services – like our helpline and Peer-to-Peer Support Groups, which have grown by 28 per cent during that time.
We have also supported almost 900 seafarers in crisis through our global CRN team and more than 12,500 seafarers have benefitted from our Sea Ready pre-departure training.
We also saw 4,200 Gen Z cadets attend our Wellness at Sea Maritime Schools’ Conferences and the insight we gained into their views on retention, diversity and mental health will feature in our 2023/24 Cadet Report.
