ICS Shipping Conference 2016
9 Sep, 2016

I had the pleasure of attending the ICS conference at the British Library on Wednesday.
Coffee breaks and a networking lunch led to great catch ups with some of Sailors’ Society’s friends at Spinnaker, Elaborate, BP, and Lloyd’s Register.
A fantastic opportunity to hear about the current big issues affecting the shipping industry including: Reducing CO2 emissions, Brexit, Anti-corruption and Overcapacity. All in all a day of ideas shared and healthy debate. The panellists successfully channelling the advice of Isaac Newton, whose statue dominates the plaza outside the library: "Tact is the art of making a point without making an enemy."
