Sailors’ Society final Wellness at Sea conference sees more record-breaking numbers

Tomorrow, ( Thursday, November 20), Sailors’ Society holds its final 2025 Wellness at Sea Conference with registrations for this UK and Europe event already surpassing last year’s record-breaking figures.

More than 9,000 cadets registered for the previous three interactive events for cadets, ratings and trainees in North Asia, Africa and South East Asia.

The UK and Europe event, sponsored by Skuld, features cadet panellists, industry leaders and influencers who will discuss the topics of connectivity and the positives and negatives of social media use, alongside the topic of bullying and harassment at sea, the IMO’s campaign for the Day of Seafarer 2025.

The conferences aim to provide this next generation of seafarers with a toolkit to support their wellbeing while at sea, allowing them to have a productive and successful career

Ståle Hansen, President and CEO of Skuld, said: “Preparing maritime students for life at sea is a commitment to the future of our industry.

“This initiative equips cadets with the skills to build mental health awareness, support peers and contribute to a strong safety culture on board. Skuld believes in investing in people, and funding this conference reflects that value.”

Sailors’ Society CEO, Sara Baade, added: “Yet again, these unique events have proved extremely popular with those embarking on a career at sea because we cover the issues that matter to them.

“The conferences also allow this next generation of seafarers to have their voices heard by the wider industry. The data gathered from our four 2025 Wellness at Sea Conferences will feature in our 2025/6 Cadet Report, providing a crucial insight for the industry into the minds of these Gen Z seafarers.”

All four 2025 Wellness at Sea Conferences have been funded by the TK foundation

Sailors’ Society’s 2025/6 Cadet Report will be published in the spring next year.
