Breaking News - the Seafarers Charity funds Sailors' Society international female-only Peer-to-Peer Support Groups

On International Women in Maritime Day, we are delighted to announce that The Seafarers Charity is funding our international female-only Peer-to-Peer Support Groups.
These are confidential, moderated WhatsApp groups, that allow seafarers to share advice and challenges with their peers.
Historically, women have been pressured to put up with certain inappropriate behaviours and demands and become “one of the guys” to fit in. Women have been reluctant to speak up about these things for fear of losing respect, or even their jobs.
We knew this meant they would be more comfortable having a dedicated space to themselves and, along with our UK female-only Peer-to-Peer Support Groups, funded by The Merchant Navy Welfare Board, we now lead the way in supporting female seafarers and encouraging the next generation into the industry.
